Former D & H Machinist Dies
Harold Willis Blanchard of Schenectady, a former D & H machinist in Oneonta, died yesterday.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Bond Funeral Home, Schenectady. Burial will be made later on Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
Mr Blanchard was born at Jordan, March 27, 1887, son of Willis P. and Frances (Hall) Blanchard. The family moved to Oneonta when Mr Blanchard was four. He married the former Susie Spickerman March 17, 1909, at Oneonta.
He was employed as a machinist in the D & H shops here until 1941 when he moved to Schenectady.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs George Simcox of New York City; two grandchildren, Judith Ann and Laura Sue Simcox; two brothers Edward A. Blanchard of Oneonta, and Carl C. Blanchard of Schenectady, and a sister, Mrs Atwell Black of Oneonta.
