Dec. 18, 1929-Feb. 3, 2013 PLYMOUTH - Deane "Duke" Sarber, age 83, of Plymouth, passed away at 11 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Duke was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Tyner, to Cyril and Hazel (Stout) Sarber. Duke married the former Joyce Overmyer on Dec. 13, 1953. He retired from Bremen Castings, in Bremen, after working there for 36 years. Duke was a graduate of Tyner High School with the Class of 1947. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Duke was a member of the Tyner United Methodist Church. He was a 64-year member of the Tyner IOOF Lodge #821.
Duke is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce Sarber; their daughter, Terri Sarber of Albion; their sons, Jeff (Sarah) Sarber of Plymouth, Rodney (Sue) Sarber of Plymouth, and Dan (Ellen) Sarber of Plymouth; his grandchildren, Traci (John) Pulliam, Matthew (Erin) Sarber, Kyle (Jena) Ingle, Austin Sarber, Eric Sarber, Emily Sarber, Elizabeth Sarber; his great-grandson, Carson Ingle; and his brother, David Lewis (Nancy) Sarber of Anchorage, Alaska. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cyril Sarber, Jr. and Dwight Sarber.
