She was born in Thomas Creek, W.Va., on Oct. 17, 1933, a daughter of Charles Green and Etta Meadows Hylton.
She was retired from Unifi in Madison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Aldine Shelton.
Surviving are her children: Katherine Hyler of Ruffin, Judy Inman and Aldine Shelton, both of Danbury, and Margaret Carter of Sandy Ridge; seven grandchildren: Jenny Roach, Bobby Hyler, Angie Tilley, Andy Hall, Miranda Brim, Brandi Carter and Kevin Shelton; four great-granchildren; three sisters: Henrietta Cassady of Maugansville, Md., Lelia Rorrer of Stuart, Va., and Pina Nance of Sandy Ridge; and six brothers: Robert Hylton of Spencer, Va., Emmett Hylton of Martinsville, Va., Wesley Hylton of Ayersville, Russell Hylton of Madison, Harless Hylton of Lawsonville and James Hylton of Madison.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Northview Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 20, at the funeral home and other times at the home.
