Dorothy Hensley, 77, of Harts, departed this life on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Charleston Area Medical Center.
She was born May 30, 1938 in Whirlwind, WV a daughter of the late Manasses & Brooke (Mullins) Hensley Sr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Saul & Octavia Mullins; paternal grandparents, Ed & Ellen Hensley; mother and father in-law, James & Lucinda Hensley; two brothers, Edward (Gladys) Hensley and Gary Hensley; and six sisters, Ilean (Otis) Adams, Artie (Tracey) Conley, Ina Mae (Milton) Adams, Wanda (Paul) Hinkle, Terrie (Ernest) Adams, and Linda (Paul) Adams.
Dorothy was a member of the White Oak Church of Christ for 38 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and the rest of her family. She also enjoyed sewing in her free time.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 58 years, Franklin D. Hensley; two daughters, Thelma (Jessie) Adams and Marie (William) Adams; one sister, Edith (Jerry) Conley; three brothers, Manasses (Freda) Hensley Jr., Harless (Joyce) Hensley, and Thomas (Selena) Hensley; two half sisters, Tammy Hensley and Gidget (Rethel) Collins; four grandchildren, Sara (Charles) Belcher, Andrew (Valerie) Adams, Zachary Adams, and Jessica (Trevor) Newton; three great-grandchildren, Noah Belcher, Heidi Adams, and Silas Adams; one sister in-law, Barbara Hensley.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at White Oak Church of Christ with Rev. Manasses Hensley Jr. & Rev. Daniel Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Hensley Cemetery in Harts, WV.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 6:00 til 12:00 Midnight at White Oak Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Adams, Zachary Adams, Daniel Hensley, Anthony Conley, Kelvin Hensley, Keith Hensley, Kevin Conley, Charles Belcher and Cody Mullins.
