Mary A. Green, age 82, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Saturday evening, March 12, 2016 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

She was born on August 4, 1933 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph and Emily (Vesely) Stadler. Mary attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1951. Following high school, she attended Manitowoc County Normal Teachers College. Later in life, she graduated from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc with a Bachelor Degree in Education. On May 21, 1955, she married William F. Green at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2015. She began her teaching career in Newton, Wisconsin at Valley View School. Mary then taught at Holy Redeemer, Two Rivers, Benjamin Franklin and James Monroe Schools, Manitowoc for many years until her retirement in 1990. Mary was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul, Peter's Pantry, was a Eucharistic Minister, and taught the Befriender program as well as a member of the St. Clare Society.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Gail (Walter) Soulier, Ashland, Wisconsin; her son: Daniel J. (Boone) Green, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Victoria (Philip) Schmidt, Greenville, Wisconsin, Brenda (Rodger) Whiteside, Dana Green, and Meagan Green, of Manitowoc; five great-grandchildren: Taylor, Logan, Mark, Alex, and Samantha Schmidt; one sister: Dorothy Gauthier, Sturgeon Bay; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Wayne (Marilyn) Stadler, Two Rivers, and Joseph Stadler, Thomson, Georgia; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Alice and Eugene Hilke, Manitowoc, Elizabeth Carmody, Parish, Florida, and Anthony Kubis, Manitowoc. Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was further preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law: William and Bertha Green; one brother: Ronald Stadler; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Dolores Kubis, Joann and James Monka and Omer James Gauthier; six brothers-in-law: Calvin, Harold, Robert, Gordon, Clarence and James Green; two sisters-in-law: Bertha Cerkas and Marge Tetzlaff.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Michael Warden and Rev. John Cerkas with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum.
