Guy was born in Jack County, Texas to Walter Lee Fields and Mary Louise Tripp Fields. He was reared in the backwoods of Southeast Bryson and attended school at Rock Creek School. WWII came and he was inducted Sept 19 1942 from Graham, Texas to Abilene, Texas. He had brown eyes, black hair, a ruddy complexion and was 5 foot 8 inches tall.
He returned home and married Martha Lena Hargrave on May 8th 1943 in Stephens County Texas. He worked as a Farmer, on the railroad and raised Beagle hounds, sang Gospel songs and whittled for a pastime.
Cancer took him in 1966 at the VA Hospital in Dallas.
