"Sally" married Philip A. Welch 14 November 1839 in Richland (now Ashland) County, Ohio.

"WELCH -- Mrs. Sarah Welch, aged 70 years, and widow of Philip Welch, died at 4:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at her home on East Madison street after a lingering illness of apoplexy. The deceased was a resident of Goshen for many years and was a daughter of John Studebaker who came here from Ashland, Ohio. As there was no hope for her recovery her relatives were summoned and were at her bedside at the time of her death. She leaves two children, Mrs. Margaret Morgan, of Chesterton, and John S. Welch, of Kansas City; two brothers, Clem and J. M. Studebaker, Sr.; three sisters, Miss Maria Studebaker, Miss Rebecca Studebaker and Mrs. Elizabeth Witmer (sic) [Witwer], of South Bend. The funeral occurred at 2 o'clock this afternoon, the Rev. C. O. Clissell officiating. Interment in Oak Ridge cemetery."
