Mr. A. J. Eaton, 84, passed away, on March 25, 2016 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born in Chickasaw County October 28, 1931 to the late Alfred and Geneva Morgan Eaton. Mr. Eaton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church and he was the owner and operator of AJ's Pool Hall in Montpelier. Mr. Eaton married Lilah Harpel on December 11, 1954 in Pottstown, PA and they were married for sixty one years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Alan Jay Eaton and a brother, Billy Joe Eaton.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 4, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Harold Robinson officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of sixty one years, Lilah H. Eaton of Montpelier; one daughter, Cheryll Sullivan (John) of Mantee, four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Louise Parker of Montpelier, two brothers, Hubert Eaton of Montpelier and Darrell Eaton of West Point.

The family of Mr. A. J. Eaton has requested no flowers.

Donations may be made to the North Mississippi Medical Center Inpatient Hospice Unit, 422A East President St., Tupelo, Mississippi 38801 (Checks may be made payable to Health Care Foundation of North Mississippi) or donations may be made to charity of donor’s choice.

Visitation will be Monday April 4, 2016 5:00-7:00 PM at Calvert Funeral Home.
