Funeral services are 1 p.m. Monday, April 25, at Krabel Funeral Home. Burial follows in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Messinger was born Sept. 21, 1941, at Caraway, Ariz., the daughter of the late Charles Robert and Ruth Virginia Elder Adams. She married Ira C. Messinger in Hernando, Miss. in 1957.
She is survived by four children, Katherine Madsen of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jeana (Henry) of Austin, Texas, Patty (Dennis) Steigerwalt of Clearfield, Utah, and Michelle (Randy) Ellis of Oakland; three brothers, Charles (Sandy) Adams of Wapapella, Mo., Robert (Peggy) Adams of Benton, Mo., and Gary (Willie) Adams of Front Royal, Va.; two sisters, Mary Ann Wilkerson of Lilbourn, Mo., and Doris (Tom) Castillo of Wapapella, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death two children, Edgar Leon Messinger II and Larry Dean Messinger; a son-in-law, Dennis Madsen; and a brother, John Franklin Adams.
Mrs. Messinger dearly loved her family and doted on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and playing jigsaw puzzles on her tablet.
She was a member of the Clarksville Friendship Baptist Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Oakland Fire Department.
