Charles Robert Adams, 78, of Lilbourn died at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti Jan. 27, 1993. He was born May 8, 1914, in Gray Ridge to the late John Wesley and Flora Jane Grant Adams. He married Ruth Virginia Elder on Sept. 17, 1932, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons: Charles Adams of South Elgin, Ill. Robert W. Adams of Benton, and Gary Adams of Deerborn Heights, Mich.; three daughters Mary Wilkerson and Betty Messinger of Lilbourn and Doris Castillo of Elgin; 23 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn. The Rev. Don Hendricks officiating. Interment was at the Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn. Pallbearers were his grandsons: Thomas Castillo,Jr., Rick Patton, Ed Messinger II, Charles Adams, Jr., Scott Adams, and Robert Adams,Jr.
