MABEL SANDS
Funeral services for Mable Sands, 80, 105 Corning Street, were held this afternoon at Sellergren -Lindell Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Qualls officiating and burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
A resident of this community most of her life, Mrs. Sands died Friday at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lafferty, she was born July 10, 1900, and was married on February 28, 1921 to Gene Sands who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Edward of Malvern, Wayne and Donald both of Red Oak; daughter, Mrs. Joe Cox, Albany, Oregon; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Crawford of Bushnell, Illinois and Hazel of Chicago.
Mrs. Sands was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Memorial are suggested to the heart fund.

Mabel Alice Lafferty, daughter of Charles Sherman Lafferty and Minnie Bell Franks, was born July 10, 1900 in Grant, Iowa and died November 1980 in Red Oak, Iowa. She married Gene Albert Sands, son of Jesse Sands and Armina Bradley was born November 30, 1901 in Elliott, Iowa. They were married February 28, 1921 in Red Oak, Iowa by Richmond A. Smith, minister. Witnesses were Jesse and Armina Sands.
