Theodore "Ted" Averill, 88, died Sunday in Lebanon of natural causes.
He was born to Alfred and Jennie Averill on a homestead in Montana. The family moved to Minnesota. In 1940, they moved to Oregon. He worked at Stone Forest Industries and retired in 1983.
He married wife Thelma in September 1946 in Lebanon. She preceded him in death.
His hobbies included riding his bike, fishing and picking up cans.
Survivors include sons Bruce Averill of Lebanon and Gilbert Averill of Salem; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by daughters Marilyn (Averill) Wasson and Cheryl Erner; four brothers; and four sisters.
A celebration of life will be Sunday in North Albany.
