MR. BAUMGARTNER TAKEN AFTER ILLNESS
"John Jacob Baumgartner, native of Steedville, VA, passed away at 4:30 last Friday morning at his home south of town. He was 68 years of age and is survived by his widow and eight children.

Two sons who have been quite ill in the home at the time of their father's illness, are recovering and are almost in normal health again.

Mrs. Nelson, of Peach, WA, and another daughter from Porterville were in attendance at the funeral which was held last Monday afternoon from the Cobb Funeral Home with interment in the Mt. Olivet cemetery. Rev. Greenfell of the M.E. church officiating."

1920 census list John, wife F. Caroline, and their four youngest children living in Carson, Taos, NM. Neighbors include his married older children: Homer with 3 sons, Bessie Robertson with daughter and stepson, and Chloe Nelson with 2 children. (6-3-2023)

Possible niece is Mary Blanche Williams Henegar (daughter ? of sister Lucinda) as she is informant on 1928 death certificate for Lucy Williams and indicates Blanche resides in Sugar Grove, VA. Unable to find grave for Lucy Williams (2-9-2022)
