Smith Wayne Fulcher, 70, of Fieldale, VA passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at his residence. He was born on November 27, 1945 to the late Rachel Cassell Fulcher and Franklin Ruth Fulcher in Henry County, VA. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Lawless Fulcher; sister, Jean F. Rorrer and brother-in-law Leonard Rorrer.
Mr. Fulcher was a co-owner of W & W Drywall and attended Fieldale United Methodist Church. He spent a lot of time at his cabin in Griffin Valley where he loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Fulcher of the residence; sons, Keith W. Fulcher (Jennifer) of Fieldale, VA, Kent Fulcher (Suzanne) of Greensboro, NC; step-daughter, Laura V. Chapman (Ronald) of Collinsville, VA; step-son, Ken G. Via, Jr. (Sonia) of Fieldale, VA and brother, Frank “Pete” Fulcher (Avis) of Bassett, VA. Smith is also survived by his grandchildren, Kyle Fulcher, Katie Fulcher, Olivia Fulcher and Adaline Fulcher; step-grandchildren, Adam Chapman, Parker Chapman and Jacob Via.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Tom Durrance officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Norris Funeral Services and other times at the residence. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.
