CLARA DIRKMAN

Mrs. Walter Dirkman, 60, of route 1, Mishicot, died Wednesday at Holy
Family hospital, Manitowoc, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the Pfeffer
funeral home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic church
in Mishicot, the Rev. George Beth will officiate with burial in Holy
Cross church cemetery in Mishicot.
Mrs. Dirkman, nee Clara Heinzen, was born in Iowa in 1890 and came to
Wisconsin with her parents when she was a child. She lived in Alverno
until her marriage to Walter Dirkman in 1913, and they lived at route 1,
Mishicot. Mr. Dirkman died in 1930.
Survivors are five daughters, Ruth and Maybell of Los Angeles, Calif.,
Helen of Manitowoc, Mrs. Richard Thomas of Wausau, Mrs. Robert Szmanda
of Milwaukee; two sons, Edmund of Mishicot and Paul of Menchalville;
brother, Herbert Heinzen of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Ebsch
of Menominee, Mich., Mrs. Carter Kuhl of Manitowoc and Mrs. Ray Benschawel
of Manitowoc. One daughter preceded her mother in death.
Mrs. Dirkman was a member of the Altar society at Holy Cross church and
of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. Friends may call at the funeral home
after 2 p.m. Friday and the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday.
