CYRIL E. FRANZ
Cyril E. Franz, age 91, of 1210 So. Main St., Mishicot, entered into eternal
life on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation
Center of Manitowoc. Cyril was born July 18, 1922 in the town of Two Rivers to
the late Herman and Rosa Bonfigt Franz and has been a lifelong area resident.
He married the former Dolores Benzinger May 7, 1947 at Holy Cross Catholic
church in Mishicot. She preceded him in death October 2, 1999. Cyril farmed his
entire life in the town of Mishicot, and also worked for Eis Structure Movers in
Two Rivers, drove school bus for the Mishicot School District for many years,
and retired from the Town of Mishicot. He served on both the Town and Village
Boards and was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, of Two
Rivers. After his retirement he enjoyed walking, and accomplished walking over
25 thousand miles. He also enjoyed going to the Village Kitchen in Casco to visit
with the waitresses, and his many friends. He looked forward to his daily early
morning phone calls from his friend Susie.
Cyril is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, 10 grandchildren (private),
9 great-granchildren, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law (private), nieces and
nepehws. He is further survived by a very special friend (private). In addition
to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers:
Roland, and Cyril's twin brother: Victor Franz, six sisters: Caroline Haag,
Gertrude Oswald, Alice Brunner, Emily Fricke, Lucille Wilfert, and an infant
sister: Eleanor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2013
at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Two Rivers, with the Reverend Peter
Mitchell officiating, with burial in the Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery in
Mishicot. Relatives and friends may call after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, at the church,
until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Wednesday evening visitation.
The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, of Mishicot is assisting the Franz family with
funeral arrangments.
