ROSA FRANZ (d. 1977)
Rosa M. Franz, 92, formerly of 1906 Arlington St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday
evening in Manitowoc Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m.
Friday in Schneider and Purath Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Holy Innocents
Catholic church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Verhasselt will officiate and
burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.
Mrs. Franz, nee Rosa Bonfigt, was born Oct. 6, 1885 in the Town of Mishicot,
daughter of the late George and Anna Breider Bonfigt. She was married to
Herman Franz Feb. 26, 1906 in St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He
preceded her in death in 1947. She was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic
Church, charter member of the Altar and rosary Society and a member of
Manitowoc Senior Citzens.
Survivors include three sons, Roland of Floral City, Fla., and Cyril and
Victor of Mishicot; five daughters, Mrs. Caroline Haag, Mrs. Gertrude Oswald
and Mrs. Harold (Lucille) Wilfert of Manitowoc, Mrs. Alice Brunner of Kiel
and Mrs. Emily Fricke of Milwaukee; a step-brother, John Bonfigt of Two Rivers;
three step-sisters, Isabel Bonfigt of Milwaukee and Caroline Bonfigt and Mrs.
Roy (Margaret) Sonntag of Two Rivers; 19 grandchildren and 30 great
grandchildren. A daughter, Eleanor and a brother, Frank preceded her in
death.
Friends may call in Schneider and Purath Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday,
where a prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m.
