Marcella passed away the morning of October 24, 2006 at her home in Richland, Missouri. She had attained the age of 53 years, 10 months and 10 days.

Marcella grew up and attended school in Hickman, Kentucky, where she was a member of the Baptist Church.

On October 30, 1970, in Clinton, Ken, Marcella was united in marriage with Jerry B. Atkison. Marcella and Jerry were blessed with two children, Lisa Ann and Buddy Lee, and raised as their own, a nephew, Richard.

Even though Marcella was plagued with ill health for most of her life, she put her family first. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends, especially her beloved granddaughter, Shayna. And you would not find a bigger Elvis Presley fan, as was evidenced by all of her Elvis collectibles. She even named her birds, Elvis and Priscilla.

Marcella was very dearly loved, and will be sadly missed by her husband: Jerry; one daughter: Lisa Ann Jennings and her husband, Shane, and one son: Buddy Lee Atkison and her granddaughter: Shayna Jennings, all of Richland; three brothers: Trice Luther Ray and his wife, Martha, Donnie Ray and his wife, Liz, and Neil Ray and his wife, Mary, all of Hickman, Kentucky; a nephew: Richard Patey and his wife, Janine of Lebanon, along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends, and a very special friend, her dog, Babe.

In addition to her parents, Marcella was also preceded in death by her sister, Brenda and brother, Ronald.
