Bette M. LaRose, age 88, of 1608 Iris Drive, Manitowoc, formerly of Mishicot,
entered eternal life on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at her residence.
Bette was born February 6, 1926 in Manitowoc to the late Williama nd Anna (Blum)
Holmes and has been a lifelong area resident. Bette married William E. "Bill"
LaRose on September 10, 1949 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. He
preceded her in death on July 12, 2012. The couple was blessed with nearly 63
years of marriage and enjoyed traveling together over the years. They were very
proud to have traveled to all fifty states. Bette retired from the Mishicot
School District after working as a teachers aide at the elementary school for
many years. She was a longtime member of the Mishicot VFW Kempen-Staudinger-
Terens Post #7753 Ladies Auxiliary; and she enjoyed baking, sewing and doing
craft work.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by an
infant son, William Jr.; one sister, Joyce (Abrose) Gadzinski; five brothers,
Wilbur (Lera) Holmes, Elwood (Adeline) Holmes, William (Beverly) Holmes, Warren
Pidge" Holmes, and Allan Holmes; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Holy Cross
Catholic Church in Mishicot. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be
the Rev. John Becker, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Parish Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Cross Catholic Church after
9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Monday
evening visitation.
The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the LaRose family with
funeral arrangements.
The LaRose family would like to extend a very special thank you to (private)-
mom's "adopted daughter", and also the caregivers of Heartland Hospice for their
compassionate care and kindness given to our mother.
