Wife of Herman Christian Ludwig Franz "Louis" Blume and mother of Katrina Blume (married Wheaton Walter).

Obituary - Mrs. Melita Blume, 82, a former resident of Brookhaven for many years, died at her home at 95 Araca Road, Babylon, Wednesday of last week.

Born in Halle, Germany, Mrs. Blume studied and later taught at the National Academy in Munich. She was a specialist in shore scenery and landscapes of Long Island and a number of her paintings were selected for a travelling exhibition displayed in the principle cities of the United States. She was a member of the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors, the Federation of Arts and founder of the Associated Artists of Long Island.

Mrs. Blume is survived by her husband, Louis, and a daughter, Mrs. Wheaton Walter.

A funeral service was held Thursday in the Boyd Funeral Home, Babylon. Cremation followed in Washington Memorial crematorium, Coram.
