"Mrs. Nina Jones Injured by Auto Dies at Hospital"
Mrs Nina E. Jones, 1426 West Sixth street, Davenport, died at 4 p. m. Tuesday at Mercy hospital from injuries she received a week ago when she cranked an automobile while it was in gear and was thrown to the pavement.

The accident occurred on the levee at the foot of Brady street, the afternoon of Dec. 20. The starter on the auto failed to work and Mrs Jones was forced to crank. She neglected to release the gears and when the motor suddenly fired, the car started forward and ran over her. Her injuries were not considered serious at the time and she was removed to her home. Later, however, she was taken to the hospital.

Mrs Jones was born In Lamonia[sic], la., Dec. 1, 1897, and was married to Frank E. Jones, May 26, 1917, at Davenport, and had since lived here. She was active in the Parent-Teachers club of Polk school and had many friends in Davenport during her residence here.

Surviving besides her husband, are two daughters, Minnie Ruth and Frankie Elaine Jones; her parents, Mr and Mrs J. W. Davis of Centerville, la.; six sisters, Mrs H. E. Kuhfus and Mrs Mary Miller of Los Angeles, Mrs L. F. Thomas and Mrs L. W. Haines of Davenport, Mrs Millie Douglass of Chicago, and Mrs Edward Angell of Albia, la., and one brother, J. I. Mowat of Lyons, la.

Funeral services will be held at the Halligan funeral home at 2:30 p. m. Thursday. Burial will be in Oakdale cemetery.
