Suggested edit: WITHEE—Edwin August Quante, 83, Route 2, Withee, town of Grover, died Saturday at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley where he had been a patient for one week.

Services were at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford. The Rev. Dan Lawrence from Hawkins officiated. Burial followed in Perkinstown Community Cemetery.

Mr. Quante was born Sept. 15, 1894 in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc County. He attended schools there. On March 5, 1921, he married Hulda Rosenbauer in Schleswig. She survives.

He was a firefighter in Kiel and worked in a lumber yard in Sheboygan. He farmed in the town of Holway several years and in 1932 moved to the town of Grover where he had resided since. He was a veteran of World War I.
He was a member of the Medford American Legion.

Surviving besides his wife, are one daughter, Mrs. Grace Kahan of Lublin; five sons, Edwin, Milfred and Orville all of Rockford, Ill., Willard and Norman, both of Withee; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Crystal(sic) of St. Nazianz and Miss Elizabeth Quante of Waukegan, Ill.

He was predeceased by one daughter, two sisters and two brothers.
