August Quante, Sr., 82, a retired Town Meeme dairy farmer, died early today at St. Nicholas hospital after a protracted illness.
Born March 18, 1868 in the town of Schleswig, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Quante, the deceased was married to Wilhelmina Dobbert of the town of Meeme on Feb. 9, 1892. The couple resided on the Dobbert homestead farm near Kiel since their marriage.
Survivors are the widow; four daughters, Mrs. Henry (Adeline) Koeppen, Town of Meeme, Mrs. Joseph (Rose) Hoffmann, Sheboygan, Mrs. Rudolph (Minnie) Christel, St. Nazianz, and Miss Elizabeth Quante, Evansville, Ill.; three sons, Edwin of Withee, Wis., August, Manitowoc, and Rudolph, Town Cato; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Henry Roehl of the town of Schleswig.
