Dorothy "Dot" Carter Suckow Causey, 86, of Corinth, Miss., and formerly of Palatka, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth following a brief illness.
She was born in Seville and lived in Palatka from 1946 until 2014 when she moved to Mississippi. In 1992, she retired from Red Wing Shoe Store as a salesperson after a 45-year career in customer service, which began in the Bag Department of the Hudson Pulp and Paper Mill. She was an accomplished pianist and was always willing to use her talents for the Lord. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Palatka, where she served as a pianist for over 30 years.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, Edmund Howard "Red" Suckow and Donald Causey, and her parents, Henry Orso "H.O." and Martha Wright Carter.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Pat Suckow of Corinth, Miss.; Jerry Suckow of Jacksonville and Gary and Nancy Suckow of Toney, Ala.; a brother, Jimmy Carter of Altamonte Springs; a sister, Mariam Mueller of Gray, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Graveside services will be set at a later date at Palatka Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jim Price officiating.
