Mathilda Dahl was born on January 25, 1891 in Dovray township, Murray county, the daughter of Iver and Mary Dahl, and passed away June 26, 1952 at the age of 61 years, 5 months and one day, after a short illness.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Willow Lake Lutheran church. She is survived by four sisters, Lena of Tracy, Mrs. Ed Bannon of Hillsboro, Ore., Mrs. Chas. Grass of Davenport, Ia., Mrs. Andrew Swenhaugen of Westbrook and three brothers, Iver of Marshall, Henry of Currie, and Oscar of Tracy. Her parents and one brother preceded her in death.

All of the brothers and sisters were present except Lena and Mrs. Ed Bannon. Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the funeral were from Marshall, Tracy, Currie, Westbrook, Hewitt, Glenwood, Minn., and Davenport, Ia.

Pallbearers were Theo. Mickelson, Jule Mickelson, Seward Johnson, Orie Sorbel and Johnny Haugen.

Funeral services were held at the Willow Lake church and interment in the Willow Lake cemetery.

Additional Information: Mathilda was born a special needs child. She attended school thru the 7th grade and could read and write. After her mother died she became violent and was placed at St. Peter State hospital in 1931. She lived there 21 years until her death in 1952.
