Elizabeth J. “Betty” Cullen, of Janesville, died August 21, 2016 at Huntington Place. She was born on July 24, 1923 in Janesville, the daughter of George and Estella (Yale) Bancroft. She graduated from Janesville High School and Whitewater State Teacher’s College (UW-Whitewater). Following graduation, Betty taught 4th grade in the Milton School District. She married Robert Dean Cullen on July 6, 1946. While raising her children, she also taught music at several nearby country schools, and later worked as secretary at Harmony School. Betty was a long-time member of Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church, where she served as choir director for many years. She was active in homemakers groups, was a Harmony 4-H leader, enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards and square dancing. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
