Death Yesterday Of Miss Rosa F. M. DesBrisay
In the death of Miss Rosa F. M. DesBrisay which took place at her home, No. 5 Grafton Street, at an early hour yesterday morning there passed away a woman of quite exceptional character and talents whose loss will be keenly felt by a very large circle of friends and admirers as well as by her immediate family. She was the last in this Province to bear the name of a family prominent in the development of Prince Edward Island from the earliest days of its settlement under British rule.
During the greater part of her long life Miss DesBrisay conducted a school for girls and small boys in connection with St. Peter's Cathedral and in addition unceasingly labored in the promotion of all the religious and social activities of the congregation. She has been one of the office bearers of the Daughters of the Empire practically since its inception in Charlottetown and for the past two years has been its Honorary Regent.
Surviving sisters of Miss DesBrisay are Mrs. L. W. Watson and Mrs. James Simpson who will have the sincere sympathy of the community in their bereavement. Other sisters who passed on before were Mrs. George W. Hodgson, Mrs. Robert F. DeBlois and Mrs. W. A. O. Morson.
The funeral service will be held at St. Peter's Cathedral on Monday morning at 9.30 o'clock.
