The Examiner, 31 May 1915:

Citizens were shocked and grieved to learn today of the sudden death at one o'clock this morning of Mrs. Robert DeBlois, Spring Park Road. Mrs. DeBlois appeared to be in her usual health of late and attended service in St Paul's Church last evening and conversed afterwards with friends who remarked as to how well she looked.

About one o'clock this morning she awoke and complained of not feeling well. As her condition appeared serious a physician was immediately summoned but before his arrival her spirit had passed to Him who gave it. Deceased was about sixty years of age and a most estimable woman, whose sudden death is a great blow to her family and many to whom she had endeared herself.

Those left to mourn are, her two sons, Messrs. George and Noel, and four daughters, Miss Audrey, a missionary in Kangra, India; Mrs. Stanley Hall, Oak River, Man; Misses Winifred and Alice G. at home, also five sisters, Mrs. G.W. Hodgson, Mrs. L.W. Watson, Mrs. James Simpson, Mrs. W.A.O. Morson and Miss Rosa Desbrisay. Her husband the late Mr. Robt. DeBlois was for some years Provincial Treasurer. To the bereaved The Examiner extends sincere sympathy.

Citizens in large numbers paid a last tribute of respect to the memory of Mrs. Robert F. DeBlois yesterday afternoon when the funeral took place. Rev. T.W. Murphy officiated at the service in St Paul's Church and at Sherwood. The pall bearers were Messrs G.E. Hughes, Chas. Lyons, H.J.P. Imer, Percy Pope, E.G. Coombs and S. Grey. The floral tributes comprised over fifty pieces and were exceedingly beautiful.
