Funeral services for Mrs. Audrey Hood Gore, 81, will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from the chapel of Capps Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Terrell officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Gore passed away at Billdora Senior Care Center in Tylertown, Mississippi on Saturday, September 3, 2016. She was born December 23, 1934 in French Settlement, Louisiana to the late Elmo and Lelia Camille Bourgeois Hood.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband George Lee Gore, Sr.; son John Blake Leonard; daughter Christi Veronesi; and siblings Elmo Hood, Jr., Ida Hood, and Lois Causey.
She was a homemaker and a Christian and enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading and working in the yard.
Survivors include sons Mark Gore, Jason Gore, and George Lee Gore, Jr.; daughter Marie Lambert; sisters Claire, Marie, and Mildred; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Tim Hood, Tim Hood, Jr., Michael Hood, Oliver Hood, Kirby Leonard, and Raymond Rushing. Honorary pallbearer will be James Stinson.
Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until service time there at 12 Noon.
