Survived by his wife, Lelia Hood, Denham Springs; six daughters, Mrs. Morris (Lois) Causey, Baton Rouge, Mrs. Henry (Millie) Abadie, Denham Springs, Mrs. George (Audrey) Gore, Tylertown, Miss., Mrs. J.E. (Clara) Page, Denham Springs, Mrs. Arnold (Marie) Pena, Baton Rouge, and Miss Ida Hood, Baton Rouge; a son, Elmo Hood, Jr., Denham Springs; five sisters, Mrs. Addie Vincent, Mrs. Georgia Henderson, Mrs. Morris (Mamie) May and Mrs. Alton (Elva) Watts, all of Denham Springs, Mrs. George (Gladys) Forbes, Baton Rouge; two brothers, Jessie and Clyde Hood, both of Denham Springs; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, George and Ida Hood; two brothers, Joe and Ulysses Hood; a sister, Mrs. Iris Bond.
He was a deacon and former song director at Gray's Creek Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society of Greater Baton Rouge, 650 Steele Blvd.
