Mrs. Odom , 88, of Mooresville, NC, formerly of Charlotte, died Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, in the Wilson Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 5301 Albemarle Road, with the Reverend Lynda Ferguson-Allen of Salem United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.
She was born October 22, 1918, in Charlotte, daughter of the late Carter Eugene and Cora Lee Rhyne Fahs. During the 40's and 50's, Mrs. Odom owned and operated the well-known LyVonne 's Soda Shop on Pilgrim Street in the Belmont Section of Charlotte. She, later, retired as a sales rep for the S. P. Richards Paper Company.
Mrs. Odom is survived by her daughter, Debbie Morris and her husband, Mike, of Mooresville, NC; son, Jack Leake and his wife, Angie, of Bostic, NC; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband, J. V. Leake, Jr., daughter, Sondra Treadaway, and son James K. Leake, and was the widow of Earl J. Odom .
Memorials may be made either to Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 1739 Perth Road, Mooresville, NC 28117, or the Sondra Treadaway Fund, Salem United Methodist Church, 184 Salem Church Road, Bostic, NC 28018.
