MRS. DAWSON DIES IN CITY
WIFE OF EAST ST. LOUIS MAN TO BE BURIED HERE
Mrs. Ida May Dawson, wife of Frank Dawson of East St. Louis, passed away at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon in the home of her former brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Elwood, 716 Lindell avenue, at the age of 45 years. She had been in ill health and seven weeks ago came to this city to be under the care of a physician.
Mrs. Dawson was born January 12, 1884 at Spencerburg, Mo. the daughter of John and Harriet Elizabeth Inlow Dowell. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Mack Elwood of this city and Melvin Dawson of East St. Louis; a step-daughter, Ethel Dawson Campbell of East St. Louis; two sister, Mrs. Lizzie Hendrix Collins of Vandalia and Mrs. Gertrude McBride of Curryville; a brother, Thomas Dowell of Hannibal.
The remains were removed to Schwartz funeral home from where funeral services will be held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. W. R. Higgs of the Church of God, will conduct the services, and interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
