Son of Valentine & Elizabeth Ardis Zinn. Brother of Jacob Zinn. Husband of Anna Gardner and Jane Dearborn Zinn. In Revolutionary War. Henry's children: Susannah Zinn Johnson, John W.H. Zinn, Jane Elizabeth M. Zinn Foster, Elizabeth L.M. Zinn Ramsay & Mary Ann Zinn Norris.

The Zinns moved their families from New River, Virginia to North Carolina and eventually settled in South Carolina. Their mother, Margaretha, was injured by the Indians and one of their kin was killed. The injured Margaretha was helped by the Moravians in North Carolina and she and her husband, Gerhart made Bethabara their home. Their remaining children made their home in Beech Island, South Carolina.

Henry Zinn eventually moved across the river to Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia.

He was a Private in the Revolutionary War where he served under Col. Robert Anderson. This information can be found in the DAR Library and in Mrs. McCall's book titled "Roster of Soldiers of the American Revolution"
