Tuesday, Sam Bickford of Corning received word of the death of his brother, Charles Marion Bickford of Creston, who passed away suddenly early Tuesday morning, death resulting from heart trouble believed to have been brought on by a recent attack of influenza.
Mr. Bickford was born in Kewaunee, Illinois in 1868 and moved with his parents to Adams County the next year, locating on a farm north of Corning. In 1880 he was married to Ella Boswell.
He is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Laura Webb, Mrs. Ruth Clark of Creston, and Mrs. Della McKee of carbon; two sons, Oscar and Roscoe of Creston; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Pettigo of South Dakota, Bessie Dir of Adrian, Missouri and one brother Sam of Corning. One brother George and a sister, Carrie preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church with Rev. Guy J. Fansher officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
