Carrie E Bickford Jones Williams
Carrie E. Bickford, daughter of Abigail and Eli Bickford was born October 29, 1857 in Henry County, Illinois and died February 9, 1930, at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 10 days. She came to Adams County in the fall of 1862 in a granite streamer before the coming of railroads and located at Mr. Etna. Her parents settled in the old home farm four miles west of Mt. Etna in the Spring of 1863.
She was confirmed in the M. E. Church and later joined the Evangelical Church. She was married to Ash ford F. Jones, March 4, 1880. Mr. Jones passed away in 1899. April 1907 she was married to George W. Williams who died July 15, 1928.
Mrs. Williams is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Samuel, Charles, Myrtle PDQ and Bessie Deer, four step children, many relatives and loving friends who will miss her.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Adams County Baptist Church. Henry Rogers conducted the service. Interment was made in Forest Hill Cemetery.
