AMORY Murrah Boozer Ritter, 88, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at Beverly Health Care in Amory after a long illness.

She was born Sept. 13, 1911, in the Carolina community of Itawamba County to Willie Bob and Thressa Elliott Boozer. She was a 1931 graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton. She married Saville Anderson Ritter on Aug. 10, 1933, in Itawamba County. She lived all her life in Carolina until moving to Amory in 1995. She was a retired seamstress and a former employee of the Amory Garment Company and Wilson Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Carolina United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at New Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dee Brown and the Rev. Lloyd Sweatt officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Calvin Anderson and Betty Joan Ritter of Amory; a sister and brother-in-law, Corrine and A.D. Wiygul of Amory; a brother-in-law, Ralph Barber of Nettleton; a sister-in-law, Helon Boozer of Amory; a granddaughter, Catina Ritter Reeves.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1986; a brother, Calvin Boozer; three sisters, Kathleen Boozer, Euolene Shumpert and Agnes Barber; and a grandson-in-law, James Donald Reeves.

Pallbearers will be Jack Reedy, Jimmy Wiygul, Jay Shumpert, Dale Petty, Guy Pettit, Curtis Hall, Charles Hodges, Kendall Waycaster and Larry Lindsey.Memorials may be given to Carolina United Methodist Church or Meadowood Baptist Church building fund.
