Mr. Ward operated Ward's Poultry Farm in Phillipston for over 35 years, retiring in 1975. He was a former Phillipston Fire Chief, insect pest control superintendent, and sealer of weights and measures. He also served on the Phillipston Cemetery Commission and Park and Recreation Commission and was a member of the Phillipston Grange.
