Elene S. Phillips, of Wayton, Arkansas passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Harrison, Arkansas at the age of 84.

The daughter of William and Lydia (Henderson) Snow was born June 21, 1932 at Wayton.

Elene was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Newton County. She was a member of Wayton United Baptist Church. She loved to cook, and everyone loved her pies. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and she loved her grandbabies very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Phillips, two sisters, Oneida Shelton and Hazel Hicks and one brother, Argus Snow.

Elene is survived by her three children, Charles Douglas Phillips of Wayton, Lisa Smith and husband, Stacey of Wayton, Marc Phillips and wife, Tracy of Ash Flat; one sister, Alice Tenison of Jasper; three grandchildren, Madison Phillips, Trevor Smith and Todd Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Wayton United Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Snow Cemetery in Wayton.

Visitation will be Monday at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper from 6-8 PM.

Pallbearers are Todd Smith, Trevor Smith, Kelly Tenison, Kendall Shelton, Johnny Crawford and Billy Keeton.

Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of Newton County Nursing Home.
