Sylvia E. Sohn, age 95 of Chilton, formerly of Brillion, died on Wednesday April 19, 2017 at Atrium Care Center in Chilton. She was born on July 12, 1921 in the Town of Schleswig, daughter of the late Isadore and Anna (Konz) Csida. She married Harold Sohn on September 21, 1940 at Zion Lutheran Church in Louis Corners. Harold and Sylvia farmed the Sohn Family Homestead in School Hill from 1940 to 1972 before moving to New Holstein. While living in New Holstein, Sylvia volunteered for the Calumet Meals on Wheels program and also did babysitting for the neighborhood families. In 2006, she moved to Brillion Heritage Apartments and lived there until April of 2016, when she entered Atrium Care Center in Chilton. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, flowers, her card clubs, baking and nature, be it sunsets, bird watching, or the ever changing scenery while traveling. Sylvia loved to attend her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities in school. The great grandkids will always remember "Granny" for her applesauce, potato pancakes and cookies. She leaves behind her loving family, a daughter Charmaine (Gene) Wagner of Reedsville, grandchildren, Kim (Peter) Lemke of Jefferson, Todd Wagner of Reedsville, Tracy (Bill) Sorge of Brillion, great grandchildren, Ryan Lemke of St. Joseph MI, Kristin (Thomas) Rockhoff of Cedarburg, Megan Lemke and Nathan Lemke of New Ulm MN, Brandon Sorge and Samantha Sorge of Brillion, Levon (Kristen) Sorge of Manitowoc, a sister-in-law Ruth Meiser of Manitowoc and many nieces and nephews. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, on February 18, 1989, 7 sisters and 6 brothers. Funeral service will be held on Sunday April 23, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. The Rev. Ross Henzi and Rev. Thomas Fricke will officiate. Burial will be in the Saxon Cemetery in Cleveland.
