Mrs. Alice E. Ganier, 72, 526 Rockwood St., died at 1:10 this morning at the community hospital after a six-month illness. She was born to Samuel and Anna Rice December 14, 1888 in Buckingham, Illinois, and has lived here for seven years. She was a member of the first Christian church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Violet Dunholm, Laporte; two sisters, Mrs. Calvin Cassler, Laporte and Mrs. Betty Lafferty, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Essling funeral home with the Rev. Elmer C. Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at 7 this evening until the time of the services. -Laporte Herald-Argus, May 8, 1961.
