Born December 18, 1911, in Europe, son of Joseph and Jennie (Petrovcic) Konchan.

Preceded in death by parents and brother, Vincent.

Survived by widow, former Goldie Pavina, and these children: Betty, wife of Paul Gelles, 234 Vine Street, Johnstown; John Jr., married to former Margaret Smith, Cleveland, Ohio; Margaret, wife of John Ryba, Donna, wife of Bert Cooper, and Mary Catherine, wife of Lee Findley, all of Johnstown; Connie and Anthony Edward, both at home; also 11 grandchildren. Brother of Joseph, Mrs. Antonia Lesnak, Mrs. Mary Germek and Mrs. Jennie Markum, all of Johnstown.

Friends received after 1 p.m. Thursday at George Makuchan Funeral Home, Conemaugh, where Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Bon Air, Franciscan Fathers. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.

John immigrated to the United States via Trieste, Italy to New York on October 27, 1920. He received his citizenship on June 6, 1940.

John married Goldie Pavina on September 16, 1930 in Cumberland, Allegany County, MD.
