With her husband of over 70 years, Rev. George Julian, she had thirteen children - 8 daughters and 5 sons – in addition raising three orphaned children. She managed the farm while her husband rode circuit to preach. Herself devout, she professed religion and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church at about age 10, but was transferred to the Methodist Episcopal Church, South when it was organized in 1844; she returned to the M.E.
