Dr. Robert Lee Wondrash passed away July 14, 2017. He was born Feb. 17, 1943, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, the eldest son of Joseph Wondrash and Florence Gronoski Wondrash. In Two Rivers, Robert attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Washington High School (1961). He earned a General Elementary Degree from Manitowoc Wisconsin Teacher's College, an El. Ed. from Wisconsin State University in Oshkosh, Wis., a Master's in Curriculum Instruction Administration from UNLV in Las Vegas, and an Ed D (1978) from UNLV. He was one of the first graduated in the Doctoral Program at UNLV. Robert served as President of Kappa Delta Pi and was listed in the National Honors Society and Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities (1976). Robert taught students from grade three through high school and college. One of his passions was extra-curricular jobs coaching students in basketball, baseball and football in Wisconsin. He loved being a mentor and role model encouraging students toward success. He was chosen to be a Clark County School District Teacher Corp Team Leader mentoring prospective teachers for the District. He was an Assistant Professor at UNLV every semester and most summers for 13 yrs. as he continued to work as a teacher and then a Principal for Clark County School District. He started teaching for CCSD in 1970, was appointed a Principal in 1987 and retired in 2000. Because of Robert's personality, he was considered a problem solver for CCSD. He could easily mediate between parents, staff, administrators, support staff and students. He had the ability to see both sides of a situation and make each side feel his support and genuine concern. He made people feel at ease so they could come up with a compromise suitable to both parties. He has made a substantial difference in many people's lives. Robert had respect from everyone who knew him in his professional and personal life and will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, of 38 years, Kristin; his brother, Thomas Wondrash (Jean), and their family in Two Rivers, Wis.; his sister, Sandi LuMaye, and her family in Two Rivers, Wis.; his brother, Jeffery Wondrash (Karen) in West Bend, Wis.
