Mrs. Sylvester Newton, aged 64 years, widow of the late Abbie Newton, of White Oak, Stafford county, has the remarkable record of being the grandmother of 77 grandchildren.

Mrs. Newton, who is very active, appears to be much younger. She is the mother of 10 living children, 6 of whom are daughters and 4 sons. In addition to her 77 grandchildren, she has two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Newton has a married daughter making her home with her, who is the mother of 8 children.
