Mrs. Catherine Frances Jett, 77-year-old widow, died today at her home in Stafford County.

She was born in Stafford County, daughter of the late Alvin and Sylvester Sullivan Newton. A housewife, she was a member of the Church of God on Lafayette Boulevard.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John Dodd, Mrs. Oscar Quann and Mrs. Thomas Staples, all of Stafford; a son, Peter Alvin Jett of Spotsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Bourne and Mrs. Bessie Rose of Stafford; two brothers, Richard Newton and Maurice Newton of Stafford, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Albert G. Littek at Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the family cemetery on Ferry Road in Stafford County.

Pallbearers will be Jack Mills, Bennie Southall, Tommy Staples, Ward Wolfrey, Ralph P. Jett and George W. Newton.
