Kathleen Stewart Barker, 74, passed away at her home on August 12, 1998. She was born on August 6, 1924 in Logan, Cache County, Utah, the daughter of Vilate Sandberg and Eugene F. Stewart.

Kathleen married Quentin C. Barker on Valentine's day, February 14, 1945, at Camp Roberts, Calif. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on April 17, 1945.

She grew up and attended schools in Logan, graduating from Logan High School and then went on to Utah State University. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She loved children and served as organist for many years in the primary. She enjoyed the beauties of nature and was a member of the Audubon Society.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Quentin; a daughter, Pamala Bird; and a son, David Q. Barker (Denise); and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Denzil (Beth) Stewart, twins, Roy and Reed (Ruth) Stewart. Her oldest brother, Eugene F. Stewart Jr. preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday, August 17, in the Allen-Hall Mortuary chapel, 34 E. Center Street, Logan, with Bishop Mark Weese conducting. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
