Joseph Adams was the son of Henry and Ruth (Ellis) Adams. He was the husband of Miriam (Cleveland) Adams. They were married about 1735. Miriam died June 18, 1766. Joseph moved to New Marlborough between 1742 and 1744 and was founder of the town.
