Mr. Johnson worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 42 years before retiring in 1992.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bear Creek Congregational Church by the Rev. Ezell Maness.
Burial will be in New Zion Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Simon Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
Mr. Johnson is survived by six daughters, Linda Chisholm of High Falls, Shelby McKeithen of Vass, Geneice Powell of the home, Camilla Marsh of Candor, Dequilla Spencer of Robbins and Brenda Johnson of Forest Heights, Md.; three sons, Cleveland Johnson of Siler City and Jeffery Johnson and Ricky Johnson, both of Seagrove; his mother, Swannie Johnson of Robbins; a brother, Ben Johnson of Jamestown; three sisters, Priscilla Jones of Charlotte and Laverne Williams and Marion Brooks, both of Robbins; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
