Theckla A. Meyer, 87, formerly of St. Nazianz, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 24, 1891, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Father Leonard Walker officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She was born March 21, 1904, in the town of Meeme, daughter of the late Peter and Theresa Schneider Stein. She attended St. Fidelis School at Spring Valley. She was formerly employed by Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. She married John Meyer September 14, 1927, at St. Fidelis Church, Spring Valley. She was a member of St. Gregory's Christian Mothers and was active in various card clubs in the St. Nazianz area.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Donald Schermetzler of Manitowoc, Rita and Raymond Ostrenga of Green Bay, Zita and Ronald Zastrow of Kohler; three sisters, Adella Felton of Sheboygan, Ann Junk of Manitowoc, Viola Schill of Manitowoc; 19 grandchildren 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers, two sisters, and two great grandsons.
Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. this Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at St. Gregory's Church.
There will be a rosary Monday at 8 p.m.

Notes from Spring Valley
Miss Thikla Stein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Stein and John F. Meyer,, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Meyer, town of Eaton, were united in marriage last week Wednesday morning at 9:30 at St. Fidelis church, Rev. Pritzl performed the ceremony.
The bride was attired in a gown of white beaded georgette. Her embroidered veil hung entrain and arranged in crown effect. She carried a shower bouquet of roses and baby breath. The bride was attended by Misses Katherine Stein and Hildegard Meyer who were attired on orchid and green taffeta trimmed with silver lace and carried arm bouquets of roses, larkspur and baby breath.
The groom was attended by Mathew Meyer and Arthur Stein.
After the ceremony the bridal pair repaired to the home of the bride's parents where the reception was held to 65 guests, the house being attractively decorated in color orchid, green and white with cut flowers. In the evening, dancing was indulged in.
The newlyweds left the next day on a honeymoon through the Northern part of the state and have returned. They will reside at St. Nazianz where the groom is employed as carpenter.
