ALBERT F. PAOLINO, Ph.D., age 96, Clinical Psychologist, beloved husband for 61 years of Rosetta (nee Bastulli); loving father of Albert Z. (wife Katherine), Renee Paolino (husband Rick Gibson) and Andrea Paolino (husband Mark Burkhardt); devoted Pop Pop of Alex Paolino-Gibson (partner Jason Glombicki), Vincent Burkhardt, Valerie Paolino and Cora Paolino; cherished son of the late Luigi and Rose (nee Manilla); dearest brother of Mario (wife Carol) and the late Arthur (wife Lee, deceased), Anthony (wife Jennie, deceased), Raymond (wife Marie, deceased) and Irene Scherzo (husband Albert, deceased); dear brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle of many. WW II U.S. Army-Air Corps Veteran.

Al was born on December 14, 1921 in Kearny, New Jersey and passed away on January 28, 2018. He was a resident of Cleveland Heights for 53 years and a member of Holy Rosary Church for 60 years. Al graduated from Kearny High School, Rutgers University and received his Ph.D. from Western Reserve University. He was the Chief Psychologist at Cleveland Psychiatric Institute between 1962 and 1982. Al was Consultant to the Catholic Diocesan Marriage Tribunal with the Diocese of Cleveland, Consultant to the Validation Training Institute, and the Consultant in Psychology at the Guest House Sanitarium in Lake Orion, Michigan from 1963 to 1967. He was a member of the American Psychological Association, American Association for the Advancement of Science and Cleveland Academy of Consulting Psychologists. Al was an avid reader, loved fixing things, enjoyed walking and was a Cleveland sports and Cavs fan. He loved being with his family and celebrating family birthdays. Al will be remembered most as a patient, gentle, kind-hearted and funny man. He was brilliant, likable, very wise and gave good advice. Al will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Al to Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine at 21281 Chardon Rd, Euclid, OH 44117.

Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 2, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 12021 Mayfield Road Cleveland, Ohio 44106 with Military Honors to follow. Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. Private burial will take place at Lake View Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Albert at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 2-4 and 5-8 PM.
